Enugu Gov-Elect, Mbah Inaugurates Transition Committee

Enugu Governor-Elect, Dr Peter Mbah has inaugurated a 60-man Transition Committee he appointed to ensure smooth transition ahead his swearing in, come May 29.
The transition committee is expected to help Mbah articulate and fine-tune his administration’s “implementable and impactful development plans”.
They will also streamline the state development plan, in line with his “Social Charter” with Enugu people.

Inaugurating the committee on Thursday in Enugu, Mbah, said his blueprint to transform Enugu State was achievable.
He added that though, the development plans may seem unachievable since they promised to transform Enugu in every ramification, especially the promise to provide adequate water for NdiEnugu within 180 days in office, everything would be done to actualise them.
“It is our hope that the vision we have for Enugu will take the enviable position it occupies, in terms of development.
“I know doubters and critics may doubt our plans to transform Enugu, but we believe that they can be achieved, because they are achievable,” he said.
He however, said with the calibre of people assembled in the transaction team, they would be able to craft a document that would help make their development plans achievable, which in turn, would “drive our vision.”
Mbah also said he expected the committee to encapsulate all their campaign promises, and make them realisable.
He further said the plans to provide jobs for the teeming youths of the state, and equip them with digital skills could be achieved when the plans are put into action.
“We are resolved to see that our plans are realised as we are fully committed to the ease of doing business to make Enugu enviable,” he said.
In in his remarks, the committee chairman, Mr Ikechi Chioke, said with Mba hitting the ground running, Enugu people would start feeling the impact of a new government within 180 days in office.
He said the committee would within one month left for them, map out strategies and to help the governor-elect deliver on his campaign promises.
The chairman further promised that the committee would not disappoint Mbah and Enugu people.
“The honour you will do for us, the Transaction Committee, is that in 100 days, you would have done something tangible, to show that indeed tomorrow is here,” he said.
One of the leaders, Prof. Pat Utomi who spoke through zoom, also charged Mbah to temper ambition with reality and imagination, as well as emulate leaders like Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and Michael Okpara, in developing the state.
He told him to be creative and discipline in governance by abiding by the rule of law, stressing that, “Your passion and commitment can make things happen”.
