LP Guber Candidate, Edeoga Steals The Show At Igwe Okwor’s Burial

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Barrister Chijoke Edeoga was the cynosure of all eyes at the burial ceremony of Igwe Osochi O. Okwor last Friday, April 28, 2023.

The Late Igwe, the Enyioha II of Ikem, Isi Local Government Area of Enugu Stste was buried at the weekend after his final Ofalla observed on Wednesday, April 26 2023.

The ceremony which witnessed mass returns of lkem sons and daughters from far and near was graced by who is who in Enugu State.

It could best be described as a reunion. Everybody, (Ikem indigene) was involved because the late Igwe reigned in righteousness.

His funeral oration was read by one of his sons, Chief Martin Okwor, the Managing Director of Enugu State Water Corporation

The arrival of Barrister Edeoga in his usual convoy with well kitted security details at the spacious Umuaram Central School field, venue of the ceremony electrified the whole event.

His presence was well acknowledged by the master of Ceremony and he was received by one of the pallbearers , Chief Cajetan Okwor.

The State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the Gobernor-elect Dr Peter Mba who were all expected to attend the ceremony were conspicuously absent.

However, other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) which included the member representing Isi Uzo in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Amaka Ugwueze,Alhaji Friday Nnaji, leader of the party in Isi Uzo were led to the event by the State PDP Chairman, Honourable Augustine Nnamani.

Prominent sons and daughters of Ikem who graced the ceremony which was more or less a carnival included Chief Barrister Albert Nnamani a Retired Federal Director, Ambassador Chief Kingsley Ebenyi, former Federal Lawmaker, Professor Sam Ugwu, Head of Department, Enugu State University of Technology and his counterparts, professors, Mishark Nnamchi and Gabriel Ugwu.

Others were Barrister Obioma Abangwu, a niece to the Late Igwe and a senior staff of Nigeran National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), former Vice President of the Airtel Communicatio and, the first Son of late Chief Senator Isaiah Ani, Chief Joseph Ani, ( Ochiaya II), Chief Tony Mba, a Retired Controller of Customs and Chief Dr Dave Nnamani, a chieftain of Labour Party in Isi Uzo and Pastor Christian Eze, an in-Law to the Igwe who was one of the officiating ministers.
