Two persons have been confirmed dead in a lone accident involving a truck at the Kara end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident reportedly occurred around 8 pm on Wednesday while the truck was conveying tubers of Yam inward Ogun State.
The driver was said to be at top speed when he lost control and crashed the truck into the concrete barricade along the road.
The truck fell on its side while the tubers of yams spilt into a ditch by the roadside.
Two out of the four males sitting on top of the yams also fell and died instantly when the truck fell on one of them.
Some hoodlums reportedly rushed to the scene of the incident to guard the yams and mounted a roadblock, this led to heavy gridlock along the axis as motorists spent hours trying to navigate the route.
